To our Selected Dance Team Directors:Please help us help you make registration and easy process so you can spend more time enjoying the event. Please follow some simple details that will help all of us make this event an easy process.
The Directors of each team are responsible for contacting Jose Mendoza at 1.562.645.6736 (Hablo Español) for any information on their teams. Please ask your team members not to contact us directly unless it is an emergency. ALL questions or inquiries should come from the team’s director.
ALL DANCE TEAMS CHOSEN NEED TO REGISTER BY March 1st, 2012. (NO EXCEPTIONS). THIS INCLUDES PAYMENT BY March 1st, 2012. This coming year we will make sure if the teams that are not register notified and teams on waiting list will have the opportunity to perform.
If we have not received your team’s completed registration and payment by this date:
WE WILL ASSUME YOUR TEAM HAS DECIDED NOT TO PERFORM.
All dance teams selected may be scheduled to perform any time from Friday May 25th to Sunday May 27th, 2012. This means that your team may be selected to perform at any of the given dates. Afternoon or Night shows.
PLEASE RESPECT THE TIME LIMITS! 4-5 Minute Max for all Dance teams / 2-3 minute max for Couples.
Bring at least two (2) CDs with ONLY the music of your performance on the CD.
TIP: When mixing the performance music on your CDs, please mix it on different brands of CDs. Some equipment do not read all the brands of CDs out in the market today. Please bring these CDs to your scheduled tech rehearsal. Final performance schedules and rehearsal times will be determined about two weeks before the Congress.
Tech rehearsal: You must rehearse your number on stage with your full team at your designated Tech Rehearsal. The rehearsal time will be given to you ahead of time. Once it is confirmed, it is mandatory that you show up to the rehearsal or you will not perform. Albert Torres will select the order of performance as he see's fit. Afternoon Shows Tech is 9am to 10am. Night Show Tech is 1pm to 3pm
Costumes: Please remember that your costumes, performances and your music should be appropriate for all ages. There will be young performers attending this event.
Hotel Reservations: All hotel rooms should be booked at The Westin Bonaventure Hotel. Help us bring the cost down and support the hotel, its the only way that we are able to offer such great discounts. Please ask for the Los Angeles Salsa Congress Special Rate! Don’t wait too long, the rooms will go very fast.
DANCERS’ PASS INFORMATION: As always, we provide a discounted Congress Pass for members of our Selected Dance Teams. Dance teams selected and ONLY the dancers actually performing at the Los Angeles Salsa Congress will be eligible for access to the Entire Congress for only $125.00 before February 1st and $150.00 After February 1st, 2012.
This pass will entitle each team member to an all access pass to all of the evening events for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as well as all the workshops held on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and of course the Dance Competition on Sunday. If any team is interested in competing, you must have this Full Event Pass for Performers as registration for the Competition.
* Team Members not performing are not entitled to this Special Price and will be treated as attendees.
* Registration must be made as a team. Any Team Member that registers by themselves will have a $5.00 service fee.
