Jessica Szota Although relatively new to the salsa scene, Jessica has made quite an impression in the last 2 years. With 12 years of competitive gymnastics experience, she brings to the stage a high level of precision and technical ability. Jessica is the first female in Texas to win both the Texas Salsa Classic and the Texas Salsa Open with two different dance partners in the same year (2010). Most recently Jessica and her dance partner, Carlos Rincones, became the first couple to win the professional On2 division from Texas at the 2011 Houston Salsa Congress World Latin Cup qualifier. Beyond her ability in salsa, Jessica has extensive training in Ballet, Afro-Cuban, and Jazz, making her one of the most versatile dancers on the salsa circuit. All this, and she still finds time to work and go to school full-time, at The University of Texas @ Austin McCombs School of Business
Carlos Andres Rincones In 2010, along with his partner Jessica Szota, Carlos won the Texas Salsa Open Professional On2 Category, and was recently the first member from Texas to win the qualifying competition for the World Latin Cup in the On2 category. Known for his smooth clean lead, and sharp attention to detail, Carlos’ choreography always represents the highest level of professionalism and athleticism. Carlos’ dance background is complemented by his keen knowledge of jazz music, for which he spent over a year studying at The University of Texas @ Austin Butler School of Music. This background has allowed him to adapt a number of techniques to his smooth musical style, making him a charismatic and fun lead in several Latin dances including Salsa, Cha Cha Cha, Bachata, Merengue, Cumbia, & Pachanga. He is currently finishing the last semester of his Baccalaureate Degree at The University of Texas @ Austin, and traveling to numerous places within the western hemisphere to perform and compete.
